OVERVIEW

AND PURPOSE OF YOUR ROLE As Head Bartender, you will take charge of all bar operations, beverage creation, mixology standards, and bar staff performance across Bahrain Surf Park's restaurant, beach bars, and event setups. You will craft innovative cocktails, mocktails, and specialty drinks, manage beverage inventory and cost controls, enforce health and safety regulations, and lead a talented team of bartenders and barbacks.

WHAT YOU DO: Role Responsibilities: General Requirements Adhere to company policies, grooming standards, hygiene protocols, and departmental SOPs at all times. Maintain a good working knowledge of food and beverage offerings, BSP promotions, and current operational initiatives. Support team objectives and contribute positively to the working environment.

Participate actively in daily briefings, training sessions, and development programs. Follow departmental opening and closing checklists to ensure operational readiness and compliance. Work collaboratively with barbacks, fellow bartenders, and front-of-house colleagues. Create a welcoming, energetic, and engaging bar atmosphere.

Provide personalized beverage recommendations and appropriate food and beverage pairings. Contribute to a memorable guest experience through excellent product knowledge and service delivery. Follow all safety procedures when handling beverages, equipment, tools, and glassware. Bar Operations & Beverage Leadership Bar Management: Supervise daily opening, operating, and closing procedures for main and kiosk bar stations.

Recipe & Mixology Execution: Develop and enforce standardized recipes for signature cocktails, mocktails, specialty coffees, and fresh juices. Service Speed & Quality: Ensure all drink orders are prepared rapidly, correctly garnished, and served with impeccable presentation. Maintain effective communication with the kitchen, service, and management teams.

Work collaboratively with barbacks, fellow bartenders, and front-of-house colleagues Complete and sign daily operational checklists. Train and coach bartenders on service standards, speed of service, and beverage consistency. Stock, Inventory & Beverage Cost Control Beverage Inventory: Oversee bar inventory management, FIFO compliance, wastage logging, and stock rotation procedures.

Conduct daily stock checks, manage par levels, place orders, and monitor beverage wastage Conduct weekly and monthly bar stock takes, manage beverage requisitions, and minimize spillage/wastage. Supplier Coordination: Assist in reviewing beverage supplier quality, draft beer tap setups, and specialty ingredient orders.

POS Bar Auditing: Audit bar POS entries against drink output to ensure 100% billing accuracy and prevent unrecorded giveaways. Bar Team Coaching & Development Training & Mentorship: Train bartenders and barbacks on beverage specs, pouring techniques, speed of service, and glassware care. Pre-Shift Briefings: Lead pre-shift bar briefings on daily drink specials, feature cocktails, and guest volume expectations.

Hygiene & Equipment Care Sanitation Standards: Enforce strict cleanliness for bar counters, ice wells, speed rails, blender units, and draft taps. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure bar refrigeration, coffee machines, and glass washers are maintained in top working order. Required Qualification ü Diploma in Hospitality/Beverage Management or certified Professional Mixologist (preferred).

ü Food Handler / Food Safety certification (Required). ü Fluent English speaker; Arabic fluency is a strong advantage. Required Experience ü Minimum 3 years of bartending experience in high-volume bars, beach clubs, or resort dining, with at least 1 year in a Head Bartender or Senior Bartender role. ü Proven track record in cocktail creation, menu engineering, beverage cost control, and bar team leadership.

Required Professional Skills and Attributes ü Mastery of mixology, cocktail techniques, spirits, specialty mocktails, and coffee barista skills. ü Proficiency in POS systems, bar stock software, and beverage cost analysis. ü Strong leadership, active coaching, and communication abilities. ü Calm, efficient leadership under high-volume bar rush pressure.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS) ü Bar CSAT: Achieve guest satisfaction ratings of 90% or above for bar service.

ü Beverage Cost Variance: Maintain beverage cost of sales variance within ±1.5% of budget. ü Ticket Fulfillment Speed: Maintain average beverage ticket completion time under 4 minutes. ü Bar Hygiene Audit Score: Achieve 95%+ on health, hygiene, and draft maintenance checks. ü Bar Stock Discrepancy: Maintain stock discrepancy rate under 1%.
