Substitute Teacher

Job Title : Substitute Teacher Reports to : Principal Location: St. Mary Academy | Sarasota, FL Overview St. Mary Academy is seeking a part-time substitute teacher for K-8. Job duties include, but are not limited to: Job Responsibilities Plan and deliver educational instruction using the most efficient and effective methodology for the students assigned when the regular teacher is unavailable.

Provide corrective feedback to students and re-teach as necessary, to ensure students have mastered the objections. Collaborate and clearly communicate with parents/guardians and other educators to assist the students. Implement approved-course curriculum. Implement modifications in a student's education plan as required.

Complete written reports and assigned administrative tasks related to these functions as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by Principal. Bachelor's Degree. Florida State Certification (or approved application for Certification). Excellent oral and written communications skills. Ability to work independently and in groups.

Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multitask. Knowledge of theory and practice of student learning styles. Ability to remain calm and pleasant under stressful circumstances. Ability to communicate cooperatively and effectively with staff, students and parents. Strong computer skills. Please note: State of Florida law requires fingerprinting and clearance through the Florida DOE Background Screening Clearinghouse for all school-based positions .
