Experienced Scrub Tech

Description Meade District Hospital is looking for a Part-Time Experienced Scrub Tech. **Hours spent in Central Supply will depending on how many surgeries are scheduled each week. We are seeking a dedicated Certified Scrub Technologist to join our nursing services team on a part-time basis!

Position Summary

In this role, you will interact professionally with patients, families, and co-workers. You will provide the surgeon with appropriate equipment while strictly adhering to aseptic technique and infection control guidelines to ensure optimal outcomes for every surgical patient.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare the operating room in a timely manner with all anticipated instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment for each procedure. Intra-Operative Care: Anticipate the needs of the surgeon, assist in positioning, prepping, and draping patients, and carry out medical and surgical asepsis. Safety & Compliance: Accurately complete counts, maintain a safe environment, and properly handle and care for specimens and instruments (including cleaning, processing, and sterilization monitoring).

Collaboration: Function independently while maintaining flexibility, personal integrity, and effective communication with residents, personnel, and support agencies.

Requirements

Qualifications Graduate of a Scrub Technologist Training program. Certification is encouraged, and certification must be maintained by obtaining continuing education credits. Some experience required. Classified as an OSHA risk category I position, indicating a potential risk for exposure to blood or body fluids.
