Patient Accounts Representative

TO COLLECT DELINQUENT ACCOUNTS AND PATIENT-PAY ACCOUNTS, CORRECT ERRONEOUS INFORMATION ON PATIENT ACCOUNTS, RESOLVE COMPLAINTS CONCERNING PATIENTS# ACCOUNTS AND PERFORM CLERICAL FUNCTIONS NECESSARY COMPLETE THESE RESPONSIBILITIES; TO ASSIST IN INSURANCE VERIFICATION PROCESSES To competently perform functions relative to the collection of patient accounts, including, but not necessarily limited to, making collection calls, sending collection letters, preparing itemized bills, making corrections on returned mail, and processing automobile accident liens.

To meet with customers concerning their account problems, questions, or requests.# To assist in completing verification and pre certification responsibilities for inpatient and elective surgery accounts and to assist in the processing of bad debt accounts as assigned or directed.

Education

High school graduate required; advanced technical training or some college preferred# Experience: One year of experience in a business office environment, preferably in a hospital, and including communications with health plans; third party or self pay collections experience as well as bilingual skills (Spanish-English) strongly preferred. #
