Job description

Job Title: Operations Research and Systems Analyst (ORSA) Company: Altus Engineering Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD Salary: $130,000 - $150,000 annually Position Overview: Altus Engineering is seeking an Operations Research and Systems Analyst to support the Joint Technical Coordinating Group for Munitions Effectiveness (JTCG/ME) Program Office.

You will apply quantitative analysis, modeling and simulation, and systems analysis to evaluate weapons effectiveness and support the development and improvement of Joint Munitions Effectiveness Manual (JMEM) products and related data, methodologies, and software tools.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct analytical studies of munitions effectiveness, weapon-target interactions, and operational performance. Develop study plans, analytical methods, scenarios, data requirements, and measures of effectiveness. Apply statistical analysis and modeling and simulation to assess capabilities, compare alternatives, and identify performance trends.

Prepare model inputs, analyze simulation outputs and test data, and assess assumptions, uncertainty, and limitations. Support verification and validation of analytical methods, models, data, and software results. Coordinate with Government personnel, technical experts, and software developers to translate analytical requirements into useful products.

Prepare technical reports and briefings that clearly communicate findings and recommendations. Qualifications/Desired Skills: Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM field required, such as operations research, mathematics, statistics, engineering, computer science, or physics. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in operations research, systems analysis, modeling and simulation, or quantitative analysis.

Active SECRET security clearance required. Experience developing analytical studies and applying mathematical or statistical methods to complex problems. Experience using analytical or programming tools such as Python, MATLAB, R, or similar software. Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and communicate technical results to varied audiences.

In addition to these skills, we also desire a candidate who has provided previous support or has experience with the following: JTCG/ME, JMEM, or Joint Weaponeering System (JWS) products. Fires, targeting, weaponeering, munitions effectiveness, or survivability/lethality/vulnerability analysis. DoD modeling and simulation tools, such as AJEM, AFSIM, or comparable systems.

Military operations research training, such as ORSA-MAC, or relevant operational military experience.
