The Virginia Eye Institute (VEI) is hiring! VEI is a large and dynamic practice of ophthalmologists and optometrists in the Richmond, VA area. We are searching for a full-time laser technician to join our busy practice. Job Purpose This position exists to assist surgeons with laser surgery, including but not limited to, LASIK/Intralase, Len.

Sx, Yag, Argon, and Diode lasers. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring a safe patient care environment where all laser safety recommendations are followed.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist surgeons with laser procedures (LASIK/ Intralase, Len. Sx, Yag, Argon, Diode) Calibrate and operate laser equipment (LASIK/ Intralase, Len. Sx ) Maintain calibration records according to manufacturer’s instructions for use (LASIK/ Intralse, Len. Sx) Prepare patients, as ordered by the surgeon, for laser procedures Maintain complete and accurate patient records related to care received and laser parameters utilized for treatment Hourly rate is dependent on experience: $19.
