Silgan Containers is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to help lead day-to-day manufacturing operations at our Sacramento, CA facility. This is a hands-on plant leadership role focused on safety, quality, production efficiency, continuous improvement, employee development, and operational excellence. The compensation for this CA-based position is competitive and based on experience, education, and skills, typically ranging from $88,000 - $115,000 per year.

You will spend significant time on the production floor, build an in-depth understanding of our manufacturing processes and equipment, and partner with plant leadership to identify opportunities, solve problems, and drive results in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment. Here’s what you can expect: Excellent pay with annual merit increases Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance Additional benefits such as pet insurance, wellness programs, and online workout options 401k retirement plan with dollar-for-dollar company match Paid vacation and holidays Tuition reimbursement and opportunities for advancement A culture that values safety, collaboration, employee engagement, and continuous improvement Opportunity to work alongside America's most respected brands and food manufacturers What you will do: Champion continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives while helping maintain plant quality standards Review quality inspections and production performance, investigate issues, and take action to maintain established standards and efficiencies Develop an in-depth understanding of can and end components, manufacturing equipment, and production processes Lead and support plant safety programs while reinforcing safety, housekeeping, and company standards across operations Assist with the training and development of supervisors, management trainees, and hourly employees and support performance feedback and evaluations Support effective resource management, including labor records and inventory or purchasing responsibilities as assigned Oversee warehouse activities to help maintain smooth and consistent inbound and outbound product flow Maintain a strong presence on the production floor and help identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and overall plant performance We need you to have: Associate’s degree required or relevant experience Strong understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC), basic quality management tools, and quality software Ability to develop a strong working knowledge of manufacturing equipment, can components, and production processes Self-directed approach with strong organizational and planning skills.
