Public Area Attendant
Job description
Primary Focus: The Public Area Attendant keeps Clevelander's common and employee areas - including floors, restrooms, elevators, hallways, and offices - clean and guest-ready, continuously working to exceed guest expectations of cleanliness and presentation. Areas of Responsibility: Sweeps and mops common areas such as the terrace, lobby, bar, suites, stairwells, and restrooms.
Wipes down mirrors and glass doors; vacuums all carpets, including hallways, elevators, offices, stairwells, and public areas. Dusts tables, cushions, pictures, rails, ledges, fixtures, elevator panels, and similar surfaces. Cleans and sanitizes hotel restrooms, the bar, employee offices, the pool area, and employee restrooms.
Empties and cleans garbage cans in offices, restrooms, and common areas. Responds to and delivers guest requests, such as towels, bathroom amenities, and blankets. Monitors cleaning supplies and alerts the manager when items need to be purchased. Reports and logs all lost and found items according to established procedures.
Practices safety standards while performing assigned tasks and alerts the manager of any unusual situations or safety violations. Maintains and ensures compliance with all policies and procedures. Maintains regular attendance in compliance with company standards and scheduling, depending upon the hotel's needs. Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
Contributes positively to the team within the department. Participates in ongoing training. Assists with projects assigned by the manager.
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years old. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Working Conditions: Work is not performed in an office environment and requires evening, holiday, and weekend hours. Requires extended periods of standing and walking, along with climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching to perform cleaning duties throughout public and common areas.
Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, or pull cleaning equipment and supplies. Requires grasping, feeling, repetitive motion, and manual dexterity, along with close visual acuity to assess the cleanliness and thoroughness of work performed.
Subject to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions typical of a beachfront hospitality property.
