Job description
Job Details: Job Location: Legal Address
- Meridian, MS, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Sign Installer – CDL Required | Learn a Trade | Join our Team Are You a Jack-of-All-Trades? A Problem-Solver? Someone Who Takes Pride in a Job Well Done? Do you like working with your hands? Do you know your way around hand tools? Can you look at a problem, figure out a solution, and get the job done? Maybe you've done a little welding, construction, electrical work, fabrication, or equipment operation. Maybe you don't have experience in the sign industry at all—but you're mechanically minded, dependable, willing to learn, and not afraid of hard work. If that sounds like you, we want to hear from you! Mitchell Signs is looking for a full-time Sign Installer to join our team. This isn't a job where you sit at a desk or do the same thing every day. Every installation is different. You'll work with your hands, operate equipment, solve problems, work as part of a team, and see the finished product when the job is done. One day you might be installing a large sign from a bucket truck. Another day you could be setting a monument sign, installing dimensional letters, hanging interior signage, or troubleshooting an unexpected challenge at a job site. And when you drive by that business six months—or six years—from now, you'll be able to say, "I helped put that there." WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR We're looking for someone who:
- Shows up. Being dependable and on time matters to us.
- Works hard. When there's a job to finish, you don't watch the clock—you help get it done.
- Takes pride in their work. You care about doing the job right, not just getting it done.
- Can think on their feet. Things don't always go exactly according to plan. We need someone who can assess a problem, think through the options, and find a solution.
- Pays attention to the details. A sign that's installed a few inches off isn't "close enough."
- Can follow directions. You'll be working from work orders, drawings, measurements, and installation instructions.
- Works well with others. You'll work closely with our production, design, project management, and installation teams.
- Can communicate professionally. You'll represent Mitchell Signs when you're on a customer's property, so how you interact with our customers matters.
- Wants to learn. You don't have to know everything about the sign business when you walk through our door. We're looking for someone who is eager to learn and willing to develop the skills to become a great sign installer. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING As a Sign Installer, you'll install and service a wide variety of signage, including: Dimensional and fabricated letters Monument and ground signs Pole and pylon signs Illuminated and non-illuminated signs Interior and wayfinding signage Vinyl graphics and banners Vehicle graphics and wraps And plenty of projects that don't fit neatly into a list! You will also:
- Prepare job sites and surfaces for installation
- Measure, cut, drill, mount, level, and secure materials
- Use hand and power tools
- Operate bucket trucks, crane trucks, man lifts, and other equipment
- Work from ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and occasionally swing stages
- Troubleshoot installation challenges and make adjustments when needed
- Perform sign maintenance and repairs
- Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized
- Complete installation paperwork and document job details
- Work safely and follow OSHA requirements and company safety procedures
- Communicate with customers professionally and answer questions about the installation when needed THIS JOB ISN'T FOR EVERYONE—AND THAT'S OKAY. You need to be comfortable working outdoors and in changing weather conditions. You need to be physically capable of lifting, climbing, bending, standing, and working at heights. You also need to be comfortable with the responsibility that comes with working high above the ground. Bucket trucks, crane trucks, man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and the occasional swing stage are all part of the job. Most importantly, you need to understand that safety isn't optional. We expect our installers to follow OSHA requirements, use the proper safety equipment, and look out for themselves and their teammates.
