Job description
ABOUT THE ROLE
"Product" at Remy means more than components and state. You'll be shaping the feel of a product that lives at the intersection of AI and visual design, which means having taste matters as much as technical chops.
- Own the core product surface. tContribute to the UI and interaction layer for Remy’s canvas, editor, and agent output surfaces.
- Build real-time, multiplayer systems. Design and implement the multiplayer sync layer of our canvas: the data structures, conflict resolution, and state management that keep everything consistent across clients and server.
- Ship with high velocity and a high bar. Take rough ideas and designs and turn them into polished, production-ready interfaces. You'll know when something's not quite right and fix it before anyone asks.
- Brin your design eye. Flag when something feels off, propose alternatives, push for better. You don't need a design tool open to know when spacing is wrong.
- Collaborate on AI-driven features. Collaborate closely with our AI team to wire up agent-driven features: surfacing outputs, handling streaming, building the right abstractions.
- Go full-stack when needed. Own features from idea through production, including backend work in Node.js and GraphQL—this isn't a pure frontend role.
- Shape Remy’s product identity. Work side-by-side with our CEO and founding team to shape what Remy looks and feels like as it grows. Tech stack TypeScript
- React
- Chakra UI
- tl;draw
- Node.js
- Apollo/GraphQL
- Gemini/Anthropic/OpenAI
- AWS/Cloudflare ABOUT YOU - 5+ years of Frontend/Full-Stack engineering experience, or Senior/Staff Engineer level, with strong product and engineering instincts developed along the way.
- Strong TypeScript and React skills. You write clean, maintainable UI code and know when to reach for abstractions.
- A genuine eye for design. You care about spacing, motion, hierarchy, and the small details that make products feel great.
- Clear, precise communicator. You can articulate trade-offs to the team, write a clear RFC, and disagree constructively.
- Solid backend experience. You're comfortable with Node.js and GraphQL (or similar) and can work across the stack without needing handoffs.
- Strong systems thinking. You think about how data structures and architecture fit together, not just how they look in the browser.
- Energized by 0→1. You thrive when the problem space is still being defined and love building things that don't exist yet. Bonus points for:
- Experience working with or alongside AI systems (LLMs, streaming outputs, agent UIs) is a big plus.
- Experience with canvas or real-time collaborative UIs (tl;draw, Figma plugins, ProseMirror, CRDTs, etc.)
- Comfort with generative AI tooling, prompt engineering, or LLM integrations.
- Early-stage startup experience. If you want to craft interfaces that feel like magic, work directly with AI systems pushing the edge of what software can do, and join an incredibly talented team to define what the next generation of design tooling looks like — we'd love to meet you.
