We are seeking an EH&S Manager to facilitate the establishment and promotion of a safe and healthy working environment and to recommend measures to reduce or eliminate industrial accidents and health hazards in compliance with OSHA, NIOSH, WA State L&I and EPA regulations at a plant level.

Duties include but are not limited to strategic environmental and safety planning for the plant, facility auditing and inspection, standard and regulation interpretation, incident investigation, procuring and revising training materials, and generally ensuring regulatory compliance of the plant. So, what will you be doing as an EH&S Manager?

Lead and manage all Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) programs, policies, and initiatives to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, Washington State L&I, Department of Ecology, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Manage L&I/Workers' Compensation cases in partnership with Human Resources and plant supervisors, including claims management, return-to-work programs, restricted duty accommodations, and lost-time case tracking.

Serve as the primary contact for employees regarding incident reporting, investigations, hazard identification, and corrective actions, driving timely resolution and continuous improvement. Develop, review, maintain, and deliver EH&S training programs to employees, supervisors, and managers to enhance safety awareness, environmental compliance, and overall EH&S performance.

Manage all environmental permits, registrations, agency reporting, and regulatory filings, ensuring timely submission and ongoing compliance with permit conditions and regulatory requirements. Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies during inspections, audits, and compliance reviews. Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve environmental compliance programs related to air emissions, industrial wastewater, stormwater, hazardous waste, chemical management, spill prevention, and emergency response.

Provide oversight of environmental operations, including wastewater treatment, hazardous materials management, hazardous waste handling, and sustainability initiatives to minimize environmental impact and regulatory risk. Lead workplace safety initiatives including hazard identification, incident investigations, corrective actions, behavior-based safety programs, PPE assessments, and hazard prevention strategies to reduce injuries and improve safety performance.

Conduct EH&S audits, inspections, and compliance assessments; identify gaps and risks; implement corrective actions; and monitor program effectiveness through key performance indicators and reporting. Lead emergency preparedness, crisis management, environmental spill response, and business continuity efforts to ensure readiness and effective response to workplace and environmental incidents.

Maintain accurate EH&S records, reports, and metrics, and communicate compliance status, trends, risks, and improvement opportunities to plant leadership. To be successful in this role, you’ll need: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus Ability to multitask, prioritize, and execute tasks accurately in a fast-paced environment Bachelor of Science in Occupation Safety and/or Environmental or related field, preferred Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience and/or exposure in EHS role(s) involving leading, coaching employees, or Safety Committee membership.
