Vehicle Prep Specialist

Kona Ice is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented team member to join our Wrap and Upfit Department. As a Vehicle Prep Specialist, you will handle the crucial first stage of our vehicle customization process. Each day, trucks will enter your station ready for prep; your job is to ensure every vehicle is thoroughly disassembled, de-wrapped, and spotless so our downstream assembly and wrap teams can perform their work seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities

Use power tools to remove exterior hardware and components attached to the truck safely. Hardware & Parts Organization: Systematically organize, store, and track all removed hardware so the reassembly team can easily locate and reinstall items later in the process. Vinyl Graphic Removal (Dewrapping): Safely operate a heat torch to warm, loosen, and peel existing vinyl wraps from the vehicle body.

Adhesive Cleanup & Surface Prep: Apply chemical adhesive removers to completely strip residual glue, leaving the surface pristine and ready for a new wrap installation. Quality Control: Inspect your work to ensure every vehicle is fully prepped and clean before passing it along to the next stage of production.

Qualifications

& Physical Requirements Self-Motivated & Independent: Strong work ethic and the ability to stay productive and on task without constant direct oversight. Highly Organized: Excellent attention to detail regarding tracking small hardware, managing tools, and maintaining a tidy work bay. Physical Agility: Ability to bend, reach, stretch, and maneuver into tight physical spaces, including working on top of and underneath trucks.

Tool & Safety Proficiency: Comfort using basic power tools, heat torches, and solvent adhesive removers safely.
