Mild/Moderate Teacher - Long Term Substitute

Job Description / Essential Elements Under the direction of the site administrator and in collaboration with the Special Education Department, the Education Specialist Teacher – Mild/Moderate Support Needs provides specialized academic instruction, behavioral support, and case management services to students with disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

The Education Specialist develops and implements standards-based instructional programs designed to meet the unique educational, social-emotional, behavioral, and functional needs of students in a variety of educational settings while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and district requirements.

Requirements

/ Qualifications Education Specialist Mild Moderate Support Needs or a Education Specialist Mild Moderate with Bridge Letter(s) of Recommendation (within the last 12 months) Resume Comments and Other Information The East Whittier City School District provides educational opportunities (transitional kindergarten through eighth grade, including special education) for approximately 7,400 children.

The District employs approximately 1,000 teachers, administrators and support staff. We have 13 schools which operate on a traditional school year schedule.
