Optician - Part Time

Optician Part-Time (22 hours per week) | Eye Associates What You'll Do As an Optician, you will help patients select, order, and properly fit eyewear and other optical products prescribed by an Optometrist or Ophthalmologist. You will play an important role in ensuring patients receive exceptional service, education, and support while helping them achieve their best possible vision.

In this role, you will: Assist patients in selecting eyeglass frames, lenses, and optical products that best meet their vision needs, lifestyle, and preferences. Interpret prescriptions from Optometrists and Ophthalmologists to ensure accurate eyewear orders. Measure patients for proper frame and lens fitting, including adjustments for comfort and optimal vision.

Order eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other optical aids accurately and efficiently. Dispense and fit eyewear according to prescribed specifications. Perform frame adjustments, minor repairs, and troubleshooting to ensure patient satisfaction. Educate patients on proper use, care, and maintenance of eyewear and optical devices.

Maintain accurate patient and order records within applicable systems. Assist with inventory management, frame displays, and optical merchandise organization. Deliver exceptional customer service while building positive relationships with patients and team members. Collaborate with providers and clinic staff to ensure a seamless patient experience.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Preferred Education Associate degree (two-year degree) Preferred Licenses & Certifications Optician's License through the American Board of Opticianry (ABO) Preferred Experience Two years of experience as an Optician Key Skills & Qualifications Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to interpret and fulfill eyewear prescriptions accurately Knowledge of optical products, frames, lenses, and lens options Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Ability to build rapport with patients and provide personalized recommendations Basic computer and data-entry skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
