Summary

The Line Lead A&P Mechanic will work with the DOM /Lead Inspector/ Maintenance Coordinator to help plan and lead the work of aircraft mechanics; responsible for assuring the airworthiness of aircraft and for compliance with applicable federal regulations and guidelines; perform ing necessary troubleshooting and repairs, AOG maintenance on aircraft; do ing related work as required , and i nspection and repair of scheduled maintenance when able.

Essential Functions

  • Able to use FAA approved data i.e. IPC, MM, OHM, SRM proficiently.

  • Follow DOM/Lead Inspectors guidance for the efficient performance of his/her assigned duties.

  • Ensure that safety is the primary factor in maintenance performed.

  • Responsible for ensuring that the maintenance and documenting of maintenance performed is done in accordance with the FAA regulations and company policy/procedures, as applicable for the tasks they perform.

  • Train new and upcoming A&Ps and/or apprentices.

  • Help ensure that facilities, aircraft, ground support equipment and work areas are maintained in a clean and organized manner and IAW company standards.

Competencies

  • General A viation aircraft maintenance rules and regulations

  • Knowledge and familiarity with tools and equipment used for normal GA maintenance.

  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostics skills across typical GA aircraft systems.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will supervise A&P Mechanics and Apprentices

Physical Demands

Typical daily housekeeping tasks associated with any GA shop.

  • Lifting/moving items 50lbs

  • Be able to sit, stand, bend, crouch, kneel, and walk for extended periods.

  • Be able to climb and work from ladders, work stands, and other heights.

  • Be able to work with one or both hands extended overhead.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Full time, non-exempt. Mon-Fri 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional evenings, weekends & holidays.

Required Education and Experience

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in GA

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.

  • Experience with Cessna 152, 172, and Piper PA-34-200

  • Ability to read, write and understand the English language

  • Must have own basic The company provides fleet specific and calibrated tooling.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Inspection Authorization preferred.

  • Part 141 line maintenance/AOG experience
