Sterile Processing Tech 1

POSITION SUMMARY:## The Sterile Processing Technician I is responsible for the monitoring and maintenance #procedures for the sterilization of medical devices. Cleans and decontaminates equipment and instruments. Responsible for operation of steam #and other forms of sterilization. Delivers and picks up equipment and contaminated instruments from the nursing units.

#Responds #to telephone and computer requests for supplies and equipment. # EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE: Minimum Required: High school diploma or equivalent. CRCST or CSPDT certification must be obtained within 6 months from date of hire ############################ Preferred:##6 months experience in Central Service or Completion of Sterile Processing Technician Course.

ADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:# Basic computer knowledge. A working knowledge of medical terminology.
