POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the mechanical repairs and services on a full line of Caterpillar heavy equipment products.

QUALIFICATIONS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Diagnose equipment based on observational and mechanical testing as well as information provided by the customer. Troubleshoot problems to include brake, electrical and hydraulic systems, detect imperfections, potential problems, safety issues and/or malfunctions. Able to diagnose and repair hydraulics and attachment components.

Replace broken or defective parts. Reassemble equipment and make all necessary adjustments for effective and safe operation. Responsible for the confirmation of the equipment function after repair. Perform safety inspection prior to being released. Cleaning of equipment and other areas as required. Ensure work area and methods used in carrying out job duties meet safety requirements.

Maintain an organized and neat work area. Complete service report on each repair. Knowledge of tools and equipment required to conduct all repairs. Ability to operate diagnostic tools required. Capable of working independently or within a team Other duties may be assigned. SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.

Ability to write service reports. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to fulfill the essential functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

EDUCATION

AND/OR EXPERIENCE High school or GED; five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must have a valid driver license and a clean D.M.V. report. COMPENSATION
