The Purchasing Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing all procurement activities of the resort. The role ensures that goods and services are purchased in a cost-effective, timely, and efficient manner while maintaining quality standards and compliance with company policies and procedures. Procurement Management Manage the procurement of all goods, services, and equipment required for resort operations.
Develop and implement purchasing policies, procedures, and best practices. Ensure timely sourcing and delivery of materials to support operational needs. Monitor purchasing activities to ensure compliance with company standards and budgets. Supplier Management Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, price, reliability, and service.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve the best value for the resort. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and service providers. Conduct regular supplier performance reviews. Cost Control and Budget Management Monitor market trends and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Ensure purchases are made within approved budgets. Prepare procurement reports and expenditure analyses. Support departmental budgeting and forecasting processes. Inventory and Stock Control Work closely with the Stores and Department Heads to maintain optimal stock levels. Monitor inventory turnover and prevent stock shortages or overstocking.
Ensure accurate inventory records and effective stock management practices. Coordinate periodic stock counts and audits. Compliance and Administration Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, internal controls, and applicable regulations. Maintain accurate purchasing records, contracts, and supplier documentation.
Review and approve purchase orders within authorized limits. Support internal and external audits related to procurement activities. Team Leadership Supervise and support the Purchasing and Stores team. Provide coaching, training, and performance management. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Professional procurement qualification is an advantage. Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within hospitality. Strong knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, and supplier negotiations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement or ERP systems. Competencies Strong negotiation and supplier management skills. Excellent analytical and financial acumen.
