• F $2,000.00 sign-on bonus with a one-year commitment for eligible candidates Under AHN Prehospital Care Services, Canonsburg Ambulance provides emergency and non-emergency care to Washington County, PA. We are seeking candidates interested in rural, community based EMS. GENERAL OVERVIEW: This job provides emergency medical care to the sick and injured patients in the prehospital and hospital environment; effectively communicates with all persons and departments involved in the administration of emergency medical care. Performs basic and advanced EMS skills which include interventions and administration of medications and vaccines with basic and advanced equipment found on an EMS vehicle or within an AEMT's scope of practice. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Determines nature and extent of illness or injury; provide advanced life support and transport to the critically ill and injured in the prehospital setting. Advanced life support to include airway/ventilation/oxygenation, cardiovascular circulation, immobilization, medication administration--routes, and IV initiation/maintenance fluids. (50%) Drives emergency vehicle. (20%) Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards. (15%) Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies including BLS and ALS and has accountability for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards. (15%) Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. PA Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) or EMS Compact Privilege to Practice in Pennsylvania at the AEMT level Preferred ITLS/PHTLS, ABLS, ASLS. 1 year experience in the field of prehospital care Additional Employment Requirements: ​ Valid Driver's License CPR – American Heart Association Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate EMSVO within 30 days of hire Disclaimer: The job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and essential duties and responsibilities of work performed by employees within this job title.
