General Manager | Courtyard by Marriott Irvine John Wayne Airport Irvine, California The Opportunity Lead One of Orange County’s Premier Marriott Hotels Courtyard Irvine Spectrum is seeking an experienced, results-driven hospitality leader to serve as General Manager and lead the property to exceptional operational, financial, and guest satisfaction performance.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic hotel executive to oversee a high-performing Marriott-branded hotel while driving continued growth, associate engagement, and market leadership. As General Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of hotel operations, including guest service, revenue optimization, sales leadership, financial management, associate development, and asset protection.

You will partner closely with ownership and corporate leadership to ensure the hotel's continued success while fostering a culture rooted in accountability, service excellence, and teamwork. As part of the property team, you will help us “craft inspired workplaces that enable all Associates to deliver kick-ass guest experiences and maximize investor returns.

" Position Summary The General Manager serves as the strategic and operational leader of the hotel, ensuring all departments deliver exceptional guest experience while achieving revenue, profitability, and market share objectives. This role requires a hands-on leader who can inspire teams, maximize performance, and maintain brand standards while adapting to changing market conditions.

You will champion operational excellence, drive commercial performance, develop future leaders, and create a workplace culture where associates thrive and guests return. What You’ll Do Leadership & Operations Provide visible, hands-on leadership throughout all areas of the hotel. Lead and inspire associates to deliver outstanding guest service and operational excellence.

Ensure full compliance with Marriott brand standards, company policies, and local regulations. Identify operational performance, productivity, and service gaps and implement effective solutions. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, recognition, and continuous improvement. Protect hotel assets through effective risk management and preventative maintenance programs.

Financial Performance Drive topline revenue growth and bottom-line profitability. Develop and execute the annual business plan and operating budget. Monitor financial performance through forecasting, labor management, expense controls, and revenue analysis. Maintain strong knowledge of revenue management strategies and pricing optimization.

Analyze market trends and competitive activity to capitalize on opportunities for growth. Sales & Revenue Leadership Lead the hotel's sales culture and revenue generation efforts. Partner with revenue management and sales teams to maximize occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR. Monitor and execute sales and marketing action plans designed to increase market share and profitability.

Develop strong relationships with key accounts, local businesses, and community partners. Ensure alignment between commercial strategies and operational execution. Guest Experience Drive guest satisfaction scores and service excellence initiatives. Establish service standards that deliver memorable guest experiences. Resolve escalated guest concerns professionally and effectively.

Continuously evaluate guest feedback and implement service improvements. Talent Development Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing hospitality professionals. Coach department leaders to achieve operational and leadership excellence. Conduct performance evaluations and establish growth opportunities for associates.

Promote a culture focused on engagement, inclusion, learning, and recognition.

Qualifications

Required Experience Minimum 5 years of General Manager experience in a comparable full-service or premium select-service hotel environment. Previous experience leading a Marriott-branded property strongly preferred . Proven track record of achieving financial, operational, and guest satisfaction goals. Strong understanding of hotel operations, revenue management, sales strategy, and labor management.

Experience managing hotel budgets, forecasting, and profitability initiatives. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong leadership presence with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge of local market dynamics, competition, and industry trends. Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as business demands require.
