The CNC Machinist sets up and operates CNC machines to produce components for Komline’s industrial equipment. This role works from drawings and established programs, selects and installs tooling and workholding, makes necessary machine adjustments, and inspects finished parts to ensure they meet specifications. The CNC Machinist works closely with the machining group leader, programmers, and production team to resolve machining issues and mai ntain a safe, efficient workflow .
Roles and Responsibilities Review work orders, engineering drawings, and specifications to plan machining setups and verify part requirements. Set up and operate CNC machines, including installing tooling and workholding, loading programs, and setting tool and work offsets. Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using appropriate measuring instruments; make adjustments to maintain required dimensions and tolerances.
Monitor machine operation, identify tooling or quality issues, and troubleshoot routine setup and machining problems. Communicate needed program changes or more complex machining issues to the CNC programmer or machining group leader. Maintain accurate production and inspection records and keep machines and work areas clean and safe.
Coordinate with the machining and production teams to complete work on schedule. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC machines in a manufacturing or machine shop environment Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and machining specifications.
Experience using precision measuring tools to inspect parts and verify dimensions. Knowledge of cutting tools, workholding, offsets, and machining practices.
