The Child Nutrition Department strives to improve and maintain the health and nutritional status of our scholars, promote the development of good eating habits, and integrate nutritious food service while we are compliant with the norms of the USDA.

This job is contingent upon submitting fingerprinting and providing authorized work status.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Child Nutrition Server is a full-time position that prepares and serves safe nutritious meals daily Provide a pleasant environment for all students and staff Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work environment ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Arrive on time according to scheduled assigned Ability to prepare and serve meals according to the menu instructions Ability to keep food properly stored and at safe temperatures as described by the HACCP Plan.

Ability to prepare service line/stations prior to meal services. Ability to react to change and substitutions in a productive and positive manner, meeting daily meal service deadlines. Ability to serve safe and nutritious meals to scholars. Assist with perpetual inventory as assigned by the Campus Supervisor. Properly labels, record, stores/dispose of any unused or left-over food and report to the Campus Supervisor.

Wash and sanitize equipment used in preparation before and after services Assist with any clean up related to the preparation and service of meals daily. Maintain a clean and safe food service environment Help as needed in the kitchen Perform other duties as directed by supervisors. Attend professional development training with Child Nutrition Staff before the beginning of the school year and throughout the year.

Attend staff meetings and school events. Support all efforts to recycle and compost QUALIFICATIONS: RELIABILITY: On-time to work every day ENERGY: Motivated to work hard during shift RESPONSIBILITY: Ability to work independently, but also demonstrate flexibility TEAM PLAYER: Maintain a positive attitude and listen respectfully to others EXPERIENCE: Previous success working in the School Nutrition program experience preferred Have six hours in Child Nutrition training or have the ability to complete six hours within the first year of work.
