About this role Join Emplify Health by Gundersen as a Casual Surgery RN and provide compassionate, high-quality care to patients in a surgical setting. In this role, you’ll assess, plan, intervene, document, and evaluate care while working closely with patients, families, and the care team. You’ll help support safe, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment where strong clinical judgment and teamwork matter every day.

Key responsibilities

Collaborate with patients, families, and health care professionals to develop a patient-centered plan of care. Provide competent and innovative patient care and education based on patient complexity, acuity, and nursing judgment. Document nursing assessment, planning, interventions, implementation, and patient or family response.

Evaluate patient progress and revise the plan of care as needed. Accept accountability, seek feedback, clarify concerns, and work toward resolving problems or conflicts. Practice in alignment with the Gundersen Health System mission, values, strategic plan, and Nursing Professional Framework. Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in a rapidly changing environment.

Personally interact with, engage with, and care for patients. Ensure patient safety.

What you will need

Associate degree in Nursing required. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred. No experience required. 6 months or more of previous nursing experience preferred. Registered Nurse license in the state of Wisconsin required. Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers certification required from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
