Job description

As our client's new CTO, you’ll be the architect of their technical future, leading the way as they push the boundaries of co-op gaming. They need someone who is as comfortable diving into technical problem solving as they are leading strategic discussions. You’ve stayed hands-on throughout your career, combining technical expertise with leadership skills to guide teams to success.

Think of yourself as the coder-leader who can write the spell, when needed, and rally the fellowship to make it happen. You’ve helped ship games in recent years. Your roots are in programming, and while your career has evolved to include leadership responsibilities, you’ve kept a developer's mindset. You’re hands-on, curious, and always ready to take on complex challenges.

You’re passionate about building great games and equally invested in building the teams and processes that make those games possible.

Your role

is to help shape our client’s long-term technical strategy while rolling up your sleeves to tackle challenges that require deep technical expertise. Nurture a strong engineering culture. Foster an environment of collaboration, creativity, and high performance where technical teams can level up and thrive. Build and lead technical teams.

Recruit, develop, and retain top-tier talent while managing and mentoring engineering leaders. Drive innovation. Identify and implement new technologies and tools that enable efficient and scalable game development.

Requirements

Who you are

You have 10+ years of development experience, with a solid track record of combining technical expertise with leadership, always staying close to the code and guiding the teams to deliver results. You’re fluent in programming languages like C++, C#, Lua, and more. You’ve led teams, created results through others, and navigated the challenges of scaling teams and technology.

You’re comfortable leading engine transitions, adopting new technologies, and tackling the technical challenges of cross-platform development. Including Unreal Engine.
