Position Overview

As we expand, we're looking for a Digital Hardware Engineer who will apply their skills and experience to design custom hardware and firmware for cutting-edge sensors and communication systems. Location: We do our best work together! This role is primarily onsite in Syracuse, NY, with some flexibility to work remotely when the role and schedule allow.

Responsibilities

Perform part selection, schematic design, and aid in layout activities Maintain component libraries and create new parts for schematic capture Perform functional test and verification activities for new hardware and aid in production transition and support Design HDL solutions for the latest Xilinx FPGAs and SoC devices Perform timing closure and create well constrained, maintainable solutions that are easily extensible and employ an efficient use of resources Use scripting languages such as Python and Bash to automate and improve workflows What We’re Looking For: A desire to own project assignments and work creatively and collaboratively on cross-disciplinary teams to deliver solutions that impress our customers and move our industry forward.

An open-minded approach to solving challenges, and proactive development of backup plans to ensure the team can hit the mark even when encountering the unexpected. A mindset trained on long-term goals and objectives, balanced with making demonstratable incremental steps along the way to meet the pace of our industry. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to efficiently convey complex ideas, coupled with an ability to listen, question, and understand stakeholder needs.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering , Computer Engineering, or related field Understanding of digital and analog circuits Experience with VHDL and/or Verilog to configure FPGAs and other embedded systems Ability to travel 10% Preferred Qualifications: Experience testing and validating analog and digital hardware using oscilloscopes, network analyzers, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.

Experience with modern Xilinx FPGAs and the Vivado design environment Experience with Communication and Sensor systems, Digital Signal Processing, Software Defined Radios, and RF System Design Experience with Matlab , Python, and Linux Compensation and Benefits: Hidden Level offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid parental leave, flexible time off, 401(k) with employer contributions, life insurance, disability insurance, and potential stock options.

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is estimated at $85,000 to $90,000 annually. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Hidden Level considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
