PT Schoolage Support Staff

Position Description: Support staff/teacher’s aide reports directly to lead teacher. As part of the team the support staff will care for children. They will work to build an environment within the center that provides the children with positive and enriching experiences. Support staff serves as assistant to all of the positions listed above.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Assists with the implementation of curriculum and daily program under the direction of the lead teacher Model appropriate language skills and behavior Maintain professional attitude and loyalty to school at all times Participate in children’s activities Assists in monitoring playgrounds and free play Covers lunches and restroom breaks.

Cover classroom when teacher is out. Help with meal preparation, service and clean-up Assist in restroom supervision (provide physical assistance when needed) Attend all staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferences Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications : Candidate must be at least 16 years of age and of good moral character Knowledge of child care center standards Ability to work under supervision Must LOVE to work with children Possess some experience working with children Maintain scheduled work hours but be flexible in rescheduling hours to meet center needs Ability to lift at least 50lbs
