Radiology Assistant - Part Time Weekends

General Description Supports technologists with ongoing patient care, including assisting, transporting, moving, quality, exam completion and supervising patients in the radiology department.

Helps manage the imaging department's patient flow. This is a part-time position working on Saturdays and Sundays. Essential Job Duties Safely transports and assists patients between other departments and waiting areas. Assists patients from wheelchair to exam table, stretcher or toilet and back as needed. Provides direct patient care as directed by technologists or radiologists, in conjunction with all imaging procedures.

Reviews physician orders, researches lab values and provides patient education as directed by technologists. Helps manage the imaging department's patient flow. Familiarizes self with all department computer systems and programs, under the supervision of technologists. Transports and assists patients between other departments and waiting areas.

Position and assists patients on and off exam tables and escorts patients to the restroom. Adheres to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations. Cleans and disinfects equipment and exam rooms, following infection control guidelines. Keeps stretchers and wheelchairs clean.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience in hospital setting: Preferred Qualifications Minimum of one (1) year of experience of working with physicians/providers, medical practice office staff, hospital or other medical specialties. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions Frequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, squatting; must be able to stand/walk for most of the workday; heavy lifting, must be able to lift packages up to 75 pounds Must be able to work paying close attention to detail with frequent interruptions Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
