• Grade 2 or All Grades) or Special Education Permanent Certification. 1 year prior experience needed. This role involves working with students who have diverse learning needs, including those with autism, speech delays, and other developmental challenges. The ideal candidate will create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that fosters the academic and social growth of each student. This position requires collaboration with parents, staff, and specialists to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs. Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles. Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation. Collaborate with parents, teachers, and support staff to ensure comprehensive support for each student.

Utilize various teaching strategies, including behavioral health techniques. Provide support in areas such as social skills development. Maintain accurate records of student performance and behavior for reporting purposes. Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.

Requirement NY State Teacher Certification in Students with Disabilities Birth
