Production Supervisor

Quanex is looking for a Production Supervisor to join our team located onsite in Foreston, Minnesota. The Foreston Plant is part of Quanex’s Wood Solutions division, specializing in processing a variety of hardwood lumber species for both internal and external customers.

Using a range of specialized equipment—including rip saws, optimizing chop saws, gluers, moulders, and other production machinery—our team transforms raw materials into high-quality wood products that meet customer specifications and quality standards. Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 annually, with bonus potential. Starting salary varies based on your experience.

World Class Safety records. Hands-on on-site physical therapy What Success Looks Like: Investigate all accidents, injuries, and implement measures to prevent recurrence.

Interview candidates and assist with new hire training. Complete performance evaluations annually. Manage conflict, create consistency within your department, and provide direction to your work centers daily. Communicate and cooperate with other leadership regarding production, material flow, maintenance, etc. Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing, Inventory, Continuous Improvement, and ERP systems.

Monitor priority dispatch and customer service requirements. Identify, analyze, and act to correct bottlenecks, product defect rates, safety hazards, and maintenance problems. Counsel, motivate, and instruct departmental personnel in machine operations and concerns through daily interaction. Proactively present ideas and information concisely and clearly in both oral and written form.

Work effectively with peers and all levels of management to achieve divisional objectives and promote teamwork. Establish base data for department budgets, forecast, manage assets, and control expenses per budgetary guidelines. Maintain documentation to support all department activities. Operate various types of production equipment.

Strong leadership and communication skills, attention to detail, and results oriented.
