District Maintenance Technician - Districtwide

District Maintenance Technician Fort Thomas Independent Schools is seeking a District Maintenance Technician for a full-time position. This role performs journeyman-level maintenance and repair work across district buildings and equipment. Work areas could include HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, carpentry, masonry, and concrete systems.

Candidates with HVAC experience are preferred. This position keeps school buildings and systems safe, functional, and code-compliant for students and staff. Essential Job Functions Perform journeyman-level maintenance work in one trade area. Perform semi-skilled work in at least two more trade areas: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, carpentry, masonry, or concrete.

Inspect, test, maintain, and repair electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and building systems. Maintain a working knowledge of district utility and life safety systems. Perform grounds maintenance and basic pavement repair on an occasional basis. Perform carpentry, glazing, painting, and minor construction on an occasional basis.

Keep maintenance logs. Record materials used, work performed, and time spent. Operate district vehicles and powered equipment to complete tasks. Generate work requests for needed or completed repairs. Monitor buildings for fire safety and code violations. Report unsafe conditions to the Director of Operations. Clear snow and ice from walking and driving surfaces.

Apply ice melt safely. Transport materials and equipment across district sites as assigned. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and equipment. Present a professional and courteous manner with staff, students, and the public. Perform other facilities-related duties as assigned. Additional Duties Performs other related tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

HVAC experience strongly preferred, but not required. High school diploma or GED required. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required. Certification of good health, signed by a licensed physician, required.
