Maintenance Facilities Intern - Summer 2027

STV is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Transportation Engineering Intern to join our team. This hybrid position requires at least 3 days a week in the office. Preference will be given to candidates who can participate in the internship for at least 3 months and work full-time. In this role, you will work alongside senior and junior designers to support a variety of transportation infrastructure projects, with a focus on transportation maintenance facilities and yards.

The ideal candidate has a strong interest in transportation engineering, infrastructure design, and the built environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of drawings and specifications using Revit and Open. Buildings for transportation infrastructure projects. Format reports and specifications to support project documentation. Support the management of project electronic files, including printing, scanning, and organizing documents as needed. Gain practical experience and exposure to STV’s organizational structure through diverse assignments.

Utilize company-wide and department-specific software to complete assigned tasks. Participate in project activities and provide support to team members to contribute to project success. Perform other tasks as assigned to support project goals and team objectives. Required Qualifications Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering at an ABET-accredited university or NCEES equivalent.

Strong interest in transportation engineering, infrastructure design, and transportation facilities. Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, and/or Open. Buildings software. Experience or exposure to the architecture, engineering, and construction management industry. Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new design software and processes. This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
