Home Health Aide (HHA)
Job description
Description Home Health Aide (HHA) provides compassionate, resident-centered care to individuals residing in our assisted living facility. The HHA assists residents with activities of daily living and supportive services. This role helps promote residents' independence, safety, comfort, and overall well-being while fostering a positive and respectful living environment.
Job Responsibilities
Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding as needed. Provide medication assistance and basic health support in accordance with facility policies. Monitor and report changes in residents' physical, emotional, or mental condition to the appropriate supervisor.
Check and document vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration, as directed. Perform light housekeeping duties, including: Making beds Doing laundry Sweeping and dusting Maintaining a clean and safe resident environment Assist with meal preparation and support residents during mealtimes as needed.
Schedule and coordinate medical appointments when directed. Provide companionship and emotional support through conversation, recreational activities, and social engagement. Encourage residents to participate in activities that promote independence and quality of life. Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and resident observations.
Follow all safety, infection control, confidentiality, and resident rights policies and procedures.
Requirements
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Current Home Health Aide (HHA) certification, CNA certification, or equivalent training as required by state regulations. Previous experience working with elderly individuals in an assisted living, home care, or healthcare setting preferred. Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, and team members.
Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to maintain resident confidentiality and professional boundaries. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods. Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents in accordance with facility policies. Ability to perform housekeeping and meal preparation duties.
Ability to respond promptly to resident needs and emergencies.
