• AIMS serves as a skills and support day program. The AIMS Rehab Counselor II at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER facilitates consumers in the AIMS Program in their recovery; assist in the achievement of their maximum recovery, and independence in life.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling sessions to address substance abuse and mental health issues.
• Monitor and evaluate clients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Educate clients and their families about substance abuse, mental health, and available community resources.
• Stay informed about the latest developments in substance abuse counseling and mental health treatment.
• Advocate for clients' needs and rights within the community and healthcare systems.
• Support clients in developing coping strategies and life skills to enhance their recovery and prevent relapse.

Qualifications

Required Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field. Required Experience:
• Minimum of Three-year direct experience with persons having neurobiological brain disorder (SPMI) and substance abuse disorder preferred
• Experience in working with consumers involved in supported employment Required Skills and Abilities:
• Strong understanding of rehabilitation counseling principles and practices.
• Ability to assess client needs and develop personalized rehabilitation plans.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Proficiency in maintaining detailed and accurate client records.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion.
• Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations governing rehabilitation counseling. Life.
