Environmental Specialist I

Support NEPA, environmental compliance, and regulatory reporting for federal, public, and private clients across the USVI and U.S. You'll prepare NEPA documents, conduct audits and inspections, analyze environmental data, and prepare the technical reports and filings for clients and regulators.

Job Summary

The role supports the environmental aspects of client projects, from data collection and impact analysis through NEPA documentation, regulatory coordination, and final reporting. It also supports development of Tysam Tech's internal Environmental Compliance and Management System. The position reports to the Environmental Engineer II.

The position is based in our St. Croix office and supports projects throughout the US Virgin Islands and the United States.

Key Responsibilities

Support development of NEPA documents, including Categorical Exclusions (CEs), Environmental Assessments (EAs), and Environmental Impact Statements (EISs). Collect and analyze environmental data to determine potential impacts to the human and natural environment. Conduct hazardous materials surveys and develop reports Perform environmental audits and inspections.

Support client and internal site compliance with EPA, OSHA, RCRA, and other federal regulations. Prepare technical reports, environmental studies, and regulatory filings for clients and regulatory agencies. Coordinate with regulatory agencies and provide project status and regulatory updates. Support development of the Environmental Compliance and Management System.

Maintain environmental records and project documentation. Assist with managing environmental project tasks to ensure timely completion. Participate in daily team meetings and support other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or comparable experience. Strong written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively on a team. Demonstrated commitment to safety. Travel Up to 25% Compensation & Benefits Salary commensurate with experience.
