Laboratory Assistant - per diem

The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for clinical laboratory duties to include, but are not limited to: Reception and Telephone duties, operating laboratory equipment including HIS/LIS systems, specimen handling and processing, shipping of Laboratory specimens for at Reference Laboratories. Performs Waived CLIA testing (e.

g. Influenza, RSV, Group Strep A, urine HCG, MONO, WBC, Hemoglobin, CMP, INR, UA and IFOB). Perform and document quality control on analyzers such as the Piccolo, HemoCue and Urocheck. Documentation on daily worksheets. Registering, ordering and obtaining patient samples per physician orders. Phlebotomy - collection of Blood samples.

Obtaining blood samples by skin puncture and venipuncture. Therapeutic blood collection and Bone Marrow. Order and distribute supplies. Must have the ability to work varying shifts. Required qualifications: Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant or Laboratory Assistant performing phlebotomy and CLIA waived testing in a clinical setting.
