Polysomnographic Technologist

PRIMARY PURPOSE/FUNCTION: The Allied Health Specialty practiced under the direction and supervision of a Medical Director involving the attended monitoring and testing of individuals suffering from any sleep disorders a classified in the international classification of sleep disorders.## Educational and/or Professional Qualifications:

1. Bachelors or Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy Previous Experience:
2. Minimum of six (6) months clinical experience in polysomnography.
3. High degree of communication skills. Licensure, Certification, Registration, etc.: 1.# Current license as a Respiratory Therapist by the State of Louisiana required. 2.# Current registry by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist as a########################## Registered Polysomnographic Technologist is strongly encouraged.
4. Certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers by American Heart Association required within 90 days of hire.
5. ACLS and/or PALS are preferred. #
