FIFO - Mobile Plant Mechanic / HD Fitter

The Opportunity: Komatsu is seeking an experienced Mobile Plant Mechanic / Diesel Fitter to join our Mount Isa Branch on a FIFO arrangement from Brisbane into Mount Isa.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work across a variety of customer sites throughout Mount Isa and the surrounding region, providing hands-on field service support across Komatsu equipment. No two days will necessarily look the same! You'll be travelling between customer locations, carrying out scheduled servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, breakdown repairs and troubleshooting to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.

You'll enjoy a consistent 7 days on / 7 days off roster, working Wednesday to Tuesday on day shift from 5:30am to 5:30pm. Return FIFO flights and accommodation are provided by Komatsu while on roster. As part of our Mount Isa Field Service team, you'll have the opportunity to work across different customer operations, build strong relationships and deliver quality technical support, backed by the resources and expertise of Komatsu Australia.

What You'll Be Doing: Carry out scheduled maintenance, servicing and repairs on Komatsu equipment Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues Complete breakdowns, fault-finding and repairs safely and efficiently Travel to various customer sites across the Mount Isa and surrounding region Work closely with customers and site teams to support equipment availability and reliability Complete accurate service reports and maintenance documentation Maintain Komatsu’s high standards of safety, quality and workmanship Komatsu Benefits: Families Policy: 16 weeks of paid primary carer parental leave, 4 weeks of secondary carer leave, plus many more family friendly benefits.

What we are looking for

Trade qualification as a Mobile Plant Technician / Diesel Fitter or equivalent Previous Komatsu experience is essential Previous experience working in a mining environment is highly regarded Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability Ability to work confidently across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems Understanding of mine-site HSE requirements and standards Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach Ability to work independently across different customer sites and environments Commitment to safe work practices and quality Ready to get started?
