Transformation Project Manager

Lake Forest, IL, United StatesPosted Nov 3, 2026

Job description

Lead assigned internal initiatives end to end, from business process redesign to systems implementation and from charter through rollout and outcome tracking, so they are delivered on time, within budget, and achieve their intended business results, all while fostering a work environment reflecting Aldridge’s Core Values.

This is a formal project delivery role within the Business Transformation Office (BTO), focused on internal business process, systems implementation, and digital transformation initiatives. It is not a construction project management role and not an administrative or meeting-coordination role. Assigned initiatives range from process redesign within or across departments to enterprise system implementations.

In either case, the Transformation Project Manager owns the plan, is accountable for delivery, and leads cross-functional teams without direct authority.

What You'll Do

Demonstrate and promote Aldridge’s Core Values in all work activities. Using the BTO’s standard delivery methodology and tools, own assigned initiatives end to end, including scope, objectives, deliverables, and success measures. Build and own the project plan, schedule, milestones, dependencies, and resource needs. Keep the plan current and hold the baseline.

Lead process improvement work: facilitate current-state and future-state process mapping, identify root causes and improvement opportunities, define roles and handoffs, and pilot process changes before rollout. Work with process owners to translate redesigned processes into SOPs, controls, and performance measures. Monitor project health using BTO project management tools.

Maintain the RAID log (risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies) and enact change when required. Escalate risks and issues early, with options and a recommendation, when they exceed the project’s authority. Identify and document the roles and responsibilities of the project team, subject matter experts, and vendors.

Hold team members to their commitments. Own the budget tracking and reporting of assigned initiatives, including budget versus actuals and vendor spend. Where vendors or implementation partners are engaged, manage them against their statements of work, including scope, deliverables, timelines, and change control. For technology-enabled initiatives, coordinate business and IT work, including requirements, configuration, testing, data, and cutover, so that technical delivery stays aligned with business needs.

Run project governance: status reporting, the Decision Log, and inputs to Initiative Owners and the Steering Committee. Surface decisions needed and drive them to closure. Plan implementation readiness with the Change Management Lead and business leaders, integrating change, communications, and training activities into the project plan.

Assemble the go/no-go readiness picture. Track outcomes after go-live against success measures, close out the initiative, and capture lessons learned. Act as the primary point of contact for Initiative Owners and stakeholders on assigned initiatives. Contribute to BTO delivery standards, templates, and practices. Maintain accurate, current, and complete records for all assigned initiatives.

Who You Are

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent experience considered. 6–8 years of relevant experience, including at least 4 years leading projects end to end (not only supporting or coordinating them) in business process improvement, systems implementation, or digital transformation.

Has owned the plan, schedule, RAID log, and stakeholder reporting for a cross-functional initiative from initiation through go-live or rollout. Has led at least one significant process redesign or system implementation through rollout, working across business and, where applicable, IT teams. Working knowledge of both process improvement methods (process mapping, root-cause analysis, Lean or similar) and the system implementation lifecycle (requirements, testing, cutover), with depth in at least one.

Demonstrated ability to influence without authority: holding stakeholders to commitments, surfacing decisions, and escalating risks with recommendations. Comfortable creating structure where processes and governance are still maturing. Strong written communication, including status reports, decision summaries, and executive updates.

Proficient with a work management platform (Click. Up or comparable), Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace. Excels at time management and prioritization, consistently meeting deadlines. Adaptable and willing to embrace new challenges. Ability to travel to divisions, regions, and job sites as required. Preferred, not required: PMP certification.

Experience in construction, specialty contracting, or another project-based industry. Exposure to construction ERP or project management platforms (for example CMiC, Procore, or comparable). Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement certification. Experience with change management practices (for example Prosci) or agile delivery methods.
