Lead Senior Software Engineer – JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, React_based in Kaunas (Lithuanian citizens only)

Hitcontract is looking for a Lead Senior Software Engineer for an international client – a global technology and business consulting organization delivering digital solutions and large-scale software projects for clients worldwide. The company operates in a multicultural, international environment and works with modern technologies to develop and maintain complex enterprise-level applications.

We are looking for an experienced Lead Senior Software Engineer to join a team working across the full software development lifecycle. The role focuses on both front-end and back-end development, with JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, React, GraphQL, REST APIs, databases, and messaging systems at its core. The successful candidate will also play a key role in technical leadership, contributing to architecture and development practices while collaborating closely with engineers, product managers, stakeholders, and other teams.

Key Responsibilities

Participate in and lead Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives. Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to gather and understand requirements for new features and enhancements. Develop and maintain front-end web components using React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS . Design and develop software solutions using Node.

js, GraphQL, and JavaScript frameworks and middleware . Build and consume RESTful web services and APIs . Apply software architecture and design principles, including DDD, CQRS, and Clean Architecture . Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality, reliability, and maintainability. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback.

Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues. Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes, tools, and practices. Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members to ensure project objectives are achieved. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends and identify opportunities to improve development practices.

Provide technical leadership and support to other team members.

Requirements

6+ years of professional experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, React, HTML/CSS, and SQL. Strong experience in both front-end and back-end development . Proven team leadership experience, either in a technical leadership or managerial capacity . Strong understanding and practical experience with: Node.js React TypeScript / JavaScript SQL GraphQL REST APIs CI/CD pipelines Message brokers ORM Strong knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) , CQRS , and Clean Architecture .

Experience working in Agile development environments. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Good command of English.

Nice to Have

Knowledge of Vanilla JavaScript . Understanding of V8 . Experience with WebAssembly . Experience working with complex enterprise applications and large-scale software systems. Experience mentoring and supporting other engineers.
