Job description
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at UCLA is searching an outstanding faculty member to serve in the Division of the UCLA Immunogenetics Center, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. The successful candidate will be expected to hold their The American College of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ACHI) Diplomate status and qualify as Laboratory Director accredited by ASHI for the following Areas: Hematopoietic Stem Cell/Bone Marrow Transplantation, Solid Organ Transplantation and Histocompatibility Testing and obtain/maintain their California Clinical Histocompatibility Scientist or Director’s license.
The candidate’s primary clinical service will be in the Division of Immunogenetics (Dr. Elaine F. Reed, Division Chief). Professional duties will include technical oversight for immunogenetics and histocompatibility testing, review and sign out of test results, development of clinical pathways, clinical consultation, monitoring compliance with the Quality Control Plan, test development, validation, and implementation.
Evening and weekend call responsibilities are scheduled on a rotation basis. We anticipate the candidate will spend approximately 70% effort on clinical service in Immunogenetics and remainder of effort will be balanced with teaching, administrative work, and research, and attendance at professional development and scientific meetings.
Candidates are expected to have an PhD, MD or MD/PhD degree (or equivalent). Interested applicants must submit their application materials online . The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5 Scale 6. The salary range for this position is $276,400 - $553,100. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan , which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
