Peer Recovery Support Specialist - Manteno - 2nd shift

Family Guidance Centers, Inc. is a substance use treatment organization offering comprehensive behavioral health programs, including medication-assisted recovery, to individuals with substance use disorders (SUDs) and co-occurring mental health conditions. With over 25 years of experience and multiple locations across the state, we provide a full continuum of care for substance use disorder, from prevention and harm reduction to treatment and recovery support.

Our programs integrate FDA-approved medications for the treatment of substance use disorders, including all three medications approved to treat opioid use disorder (buprenorphine, methadone, and naltrexone). We strive to meet our patients where they are, bringing care outside clinic walls via telehealth and mobile services and ensuring patients have access to harm reduction resources and education.

Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) Essential Duties: Conduct recovery oriented and educational groups under the direction of the Program Manager Engage patients in treatment through motivational interviewing and motivational enhancement techniques Assist with monitoring patient engagement and communicate with the treatment team regarding patient attendance, participation and any barriers or needs to support treatment involvement Residential Coordinator (RC) Essential Duties: Process incoming patients including basic orientation to program rules Support treatment plans by reporting client observations and support decisions concerning therapy, discipline and privilege (at a minimum twice per shift and subject to change depending on need) Assists case manager/counselor with client activities by implementing scheduled and/or requested activities.

Works cooperatively with members of the nursing and medical staff to monitor clients’ vital signs, observe urine drops, monitor self-administration of medications, monitor clients, and chart all pertinent data. Performs room and facility checks, at varying intervals, to ensure client’s comfort, safety, and well-being.

• Tuesday (2:30p - 11:00p) with flexibility to accommodate agency's need Start Date: ASAP Work Location: 333 W. Evergreen St., Manteno, IL Pay Rate: $18.26 - $22.00 per hour, based on certification Family Guidance Centers, Inc. is a drug-free workplace. Pre-employment drug testing includes marijuana/THC. Education

High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years old. Must have at least one year of recovery from substance use, mental health or co-occurring substance use and mental health challenges. Must have certification in Peer Recovery Support (CPRS), or attain certification within one year of placement in position.

Demonstrates the ability to work within agency structure, accept supervision and participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, when applicable.
