Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced professional for the role of Manager
- Cable Costing for a leading cable manufacturing organization. The role will be responsible for product costing, tender pricing, commercial evaluation, BOM validation, and profitability analysis across HT/LT and specialty cable products. The candidate will play a key role in supporting business profitability, pricing strategy, and cost optimization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed product cost sheets for HT/LT power cables, control cables, instrumentation cables, telecom cables, and specialty cables Perform raw material costing including Copper, Aluminium, XLPE, PVC, armouring, insulation, and sheathing components Handle tender costing, commercial pricing, and contribution margin analysis for domestic and export business Evaluate BOM structures, material consumption, process losses, and manufacturing overheads Conduct standard vs actual cost analysis and identify cost leakage areas Work closely with Sales, Tendering, Production, Procurement, Finance, and Design teams for commercial feasibility and pricing decisions Monitor fluctuations in commodity pricing and assess impact on product costing and margins Maintain and validate costing data in ERP/SAP systems Support management with profitability analysis, pricing models, and cost reduction initiatives Ensure accurate costing for new product development and customer-specific requirements Analyze plant-level manufacturing costs including labour, utilities, machine processing, and packaging Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and monthly MIS related to costing and margins Requirements Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor’s degree in engineering / commerce / finance; MBA or ICWA/CMA preferred 8–15 years of experience in costing within cable, wire, electrical, or manufacturing industry Strong understanding of HT/LT cable manufacturing processes and raw materials Hands-on experience in product costing, tender pricing, BOM analysis, and commercial costing Good knowledge of Copper/Aluminium consumption calculations and costing methodologies Experience working on SAP/ERP-based costing systems Strong analytical, commercial, and cross-functional coordination skills Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing and tender-driven business environment Key Skills Cable Costing HT/LT Cable Tender Costing Product Costing Commercial Costing BOM Analysis Copper Costing SAP/ERP Margin Analysis Manufacturing Costing Standard Costing Variance Analysis Cost Optimization Pricing Strategy Commercial Evaluation Reporting To Head – Commercial / Finance / Business Finance Industry Preference Cable Manufacturing / Wire & Cable / Electrical Manufacturing / Industrial Manufacturing
