Join our team and discover the opportunities that await. Your opportunity: We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer-In-Training (EIT) to join our geotechnical engineering team based in Burnaby, BC. The successful candidate will work closely with a local team of 40 geotechnical staff in Burnaby, supported by a wider, regional team of over 200 geotechnical staff.
Our team supports all stages of project delivery with technical expertise in seismicity, transportation and infrastructure, dams, trenchless technologies, rock engineering, and geohazards and geomorphology. Your responsibilities
may vary based on your interests and skillset. Technical Development: Apply your growing expertise and perform geotechnical engineering analyses while learning from experienced engineers. Use engineering judgement to prepare high-quality deliverables, including geotechnical reports and memoranda. Escape the Office: Opportunity to conduct a variety of field work, including geotechnical site investigations and construction field reviews with possibility of travel for projects as needed.
Win Work: Develop cost estimates and prepare proposals for geotechnical and multi-disciplinary pursuits. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other geotechnical team members to support larger Stantec teams, including buildings, transportation, power, water, environmental, archaeology, and mining. Innovative Environment: Contribute to forward-thinking projects using a variety of tools, such as advanced modelling software, drones, and AI-integrated solutions.

What we're looking for: Passion for making a positive impact through engineering. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude. Effective communication and collaborative skills. A curious mind and passion for continued learning. Flexibility to work in varying locations and hours. Essential qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of engineering (such as Civil, Geotechnical, Geological, or Mining Engineering) from a recognized university.
0-4 years of experience in geotechnical engineering or related services (new graduates are encouraged to apply). Eligible to register (or already registered) as an Engineer-In-Training with EGBC Valid Canadian driver’s license with access to a vehicle. Ability to live and work in Canada. Residing in British Columbia, or willing to relocate.
