Security Guard

KEARNY PUBLIC SCHOOLS SUPERINTENDENT'S BULLETIN #152 Security Guard Application Deadline: Open Until Filled REPORTS TO: Director of Operations, School Principal and/or designee QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in law enforcement and/or in the security field; Aptitude for and competence in performing the assigned responsibilities of the position; Ability to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Patrol school building and/or grounds to prevent or curtail any situation which may endanger the safety and welfare of the students or staff, including theft, vandalism, illegal entry, altercations, fire, etc.; Conduct patrol inspections of doorways, stairwells, hallways, lavatories, and school grounds to determine that they are secure from any unauthorized activities; Confront unauthorized persons for questioning; route or detain them or call police for assistance, according to Board and/or School policy; Make written reports of security violations; Operate and understand the Video Surveillance System; Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as the building principal or his/her designee may assign to ensure the safety, security and protection of all students, staff and property.
