Position Overview

The Loan Funding Specialist is responsible for recording and remitting payments related to participated, swapped, syndicated, and SBA guaranteed loans. This individual is also responsible for funding new loans, ensuring that advances are processed timely, accurately, and distributed to appropriate parties per the terms of the loan.

They are responsible for providing guidance and on-the-job training to new and/or less experienced members of the loan servicing team and will also assist department management with tasks and duties to support department operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs loan maintenance changes to the core servicing system, in accordance with current maintenance procedures. Manages financial transactions and reporting process with secondary market loans, including participations, swap loans, syndications, and SBA loans. Completes research and makes necessary corrections to loans, including payment corrections, rate changes, and interest adjustments.

Reviews and verifies maintenance entered by other users of core system for all loan types. Accepts and processes draws on lines of credit for purchased participation loans. Monitors, completes, and assigns maintenance requests received via the ticketing system. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.

Remits payments to participant banks and/or the SBA. Reports monthly SBA activity. Disburses funds for all new loans per the terms of the loan. Manages Letters of Credit within the core system. Reviews documentation for new loan funding and completes appropriate transactions for disbursement. Reviews participation, swap, syndication, and SBA loan activity, reports appropriately, and remits funds as accurately and timely.

Completes daily non-post transactions report. Completes account research and makes appropriate corrections, including payment adjustments. Completes billing maintenance and creates manual billing notices. Reviews and verifies maintenance entered by other Loan Operations personnel to ensure accuracy and compliance. Handles direct communications with customers to ensure quality service.

Handles customer telephone calls. Completes various forms and reports for internal and external distribution, which may include any of the following: Participation payments & advance notifications SBA 1502 form & other SBA reports Swap loan reports Education & Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent with an emphasis in a business curriculum.

Some college or degree preferred. A minimum of two (2) years related experience is normally required. Skill(s) Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; knowledge of loan processing; proficient PC skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access; ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach with hands or arms, use hands to manipulate objects, handle or feel, and lift items weighing 20 lbs.

Specific compensation offered will be determined based on a combination of factors including the candidate’s knowledge, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials. The salary range may vary based on geographic location.
