Responsible for developing and modifying IT Systems Software (i.e., software for use in operating/controlling hardware and providing a platform for running internal end user/business applications). The work includes:

• Identifying and analyzing business needs, conducting requirements gathering, and defining scope and objectives for the IT System
• Performing feasibility studies to develop software such as databases, operating systems, networks and utilities for hardware compatibility
• Writing code in lower-level programming languages and translating/compiling into machine language for use on specific hardware
• Supporting systems software testing, deployment, and maintenance activities by correcting programming errors and coding systems software enhancements. A Senior Professional applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.
