Libarary Officer (MOE)

Job Roles & Responsibilities Operational Manage and ensure that the day-to-day operation and administration of the school’s Media Resource Library (MRL) is efficient and that the system, resources and equipment are well maintained. Implement library policies and procedures for library operation and management Prepare monthly and termly administrative report on library usage, loan statistics, reference enquiries and library activities/programmes.

Preferably to be trained and able to operate the functionalities of the Library Automation System (LAS) – Spydus system independently. Duties such as charging, renewing and returning, circulation, generation of reports and OPAC Web enquiry. Update and maintain accuracy of data in the LAS, Collection Maintenance Co-ordinate with the Library Service Provider (in this case, Civica Pte Ltd) in the procurement, selection and delivery of MRL print and non-print materials.

Catalogue and accession new library materials into the LAS. Shelve library collections according to the Dewey Decimal Classification. Select, index, archive and update newspaper articles suitable for Resource Files based on school needs.

Requirements

Job Requirements Minimum 5 ‘O’ Levels or equivalent, preferably possess a Diploma in Library Studies. Minimum one year of administrative experience and preferably trained in the use of Spydus Library Automation System. Equipped with strong organizational, administrative, communication and customer service skills Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build good rapport with all levels of staff A proactive team player who is able to work independently in a fast paced environment Previous experience in a library work environment would be an added advantage Good command of English and communication skills
