Job Details As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a critical role in optimizing and enhancing manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production and high-quality output. You will be responsible for developing and implementing detailed work instructions and process plans that align with production goals and compliance standards.

This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to support new product introductions, ensuring seamless integration into existing manufacturing systems. You will analyze current manufacturing layouts and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and increased productivity.

Ultimately, your expertise will drive continuous improvement initiatives that contribute to the overall success and competitiveness of the manufacturing operations within the organization.

Responsibilities

Conduct process capability studies and implement process improvements based on data analysis. Design, develop, and implement automated manufacturing equipment and test systems. Create, modify, and maintain Labview applications used for equipment control, test automation, and database integration. Support manufacturing equipment including Labview, PLC’s, various sensors, vision systems, and automated test equipment.

Develop process documentation, equipment documentation, and standard operating procedures. Analyze manufacturing data to identify opportunities for process improvement. Lead continuous improvement projects focused on improving cycle time, station utilization, throughput, and quality. Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and automation systems.

Interface with equipment vendors and integrators. Collaborate with other departments to establish process control and validate requirements. Support new product introduction by developing manufacturing processes, fixtures, and test methods.

Minimum Qualifications

3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, Relevant experience in lieu of degree is also acceptable. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, work instructions, and process documentation Experience with new product introduction and process layout planning Proficiency in National Instruments LabVIEW programming and application development Experience with Solidworks (or other 3D Modeling software) Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical specifications.

Strong problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies Knowledge of automation, robotics integration in manufacturing and precision optical alignment Previous experience in a low-volume high mix manufacturing environment Advanced problem-solving and project management skills Experience with SQL databases Hands-on experience with industrial automation systems Experience with data acquisition systems, instrumentation, and automated test equipment Equal Opportunity Employer Statement Attalon, Inc.
