Middle School Girls Basketball Coach

Job Summary

Athletic Director Division: MS Athletics Classification: Seasonal Part-time, Nonexempt Department: Athletics Southlands Christian Schools (SCS) believes that it is the responsibility of coaches to educate and coach with an eternal perspective. Here at SCS, coaches must seek to transform the lives of the student-athletes they oversee.

The goal of the coach is to direct the player in the skills of the sport so that each player aims toward reaching their potential for their age and maturity.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assume the responsibility for the overall development of the sport.
2. Make recommendations for scheduling to the Athletic Director (A.D.).
3. Recommend to the A.D. at the end of the season the needed purchases for the following season.
4. Regularly inspect and perform needed maintenance of all equipment. If major repairs are needed, inform the A.D. to arrange work to be done.
5. Responsible for all uniforms and equipment issued to the team.
6. Remain at school until all athletes have departed. This responsibility can only be delegated to another teacher or administrator.
7. Maintain accurate knowledge of rules pertaining to the sport.
8. Maintain accurate individual and season statistics and records.
9. All other duties as assigned. ADDITIONAL DIMENSIONS
10. The season will be starting mid-November and will run through February.
11. Hourly, non-exempt position.
12. Hours vary. All Employees of Southlands Christian Schools must be professing, born-again Christians in accordance with Southlands Schools International’s religious 501-C3 bylaws.
