Operations Manager/Shift Supervisor

Position: Shift Supervisor/Operations Manager The Shift Supervisor is responsible for facilitating daily shelter operations. Jamaica Women’s Employment Shelter is a transitional shelter for women who are experiencing homelessness and are employed or deemed employable, and; referred by the New York City Department of Homeless Services (DHS).

Must possess good interpersonal skills and basic computer knowledge. Certifications in security required and Fire Safety (F-80) obtained within 3 months of hire. Shift Supervisor/Operations Manager Principal Responsibilities: Supervise delivery of program services including intake, bed assignments, case management services, distribution of client mail, lockers, meal cards and medication Ensure optimal customer service is being provided to clients .

Ensure recreation activities are occurring . Ensures the facility is adequately staffed at all times. Work with DHS PD to ensure the daily security and safety of the facility . Supervise facility maintenance, cleaning staff and fire safety Manage community relations and communicate with relevant authorities as needed.
